Malibu, biscuits and cake bombs – @BettyMagazine sugary sweet Summer launch @Betty_ed @SUNPOCKET @BiscuiteersLtd @TattyDevine

Bringing sunshine and happiness to an otherwise dull Thursday night, quirky lifestyle magazine Betty, held their official launch party at the super cute and colourful Lomography shop in Spitalfield’s East London. Taking place downstairs in a room covered in wall to wall polaroids, the MLPR team were greeted by a rather dapper looking man in a dickie bow who then lead us to a crowd of East London fashionistas and musical hipsters. Rather unusually we headed straight for the bar where a sea of Malibu based cocktails – pineapple, cranberry and strawberry – were presented to us, all topped off with a glacier cherry and pink umbrella. Next to them rested the deadly yet irresistible cake bombs covered in sweet toffee icing and a cube of Flake bar – we had to have one!

We had a great chat with Charlotte Jacklin, the editor of Betty Magazine, who promptly gave us our lovely canvas goodie bags. Looking inside was like looking in a treasure chest of witty, off beat, fabulousness. Candy striped pouches stuffed full sweets, Biscuiteers cookies with BETTY lettering and some adorable foldable sunglasses from Sunpockets (modelled well by MLPR workie, Olivia).

We also got to have a first glimpse at the new issue of Betty Magazine which is a beautifully designed and thoughtful publication. Everything from fashion (happy to see that Tatty Devine melon earrings appeared on the first shopping page) and make up to food and music.

All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening which left a sweet taste in our mouths!
