Wondaland
Wondaland is a new vintage inspired womenswear label with a rapidly growing reputation. Understated and effortlessly chic, Alice Rugge-Price's beautifully tailored collection fuse retro glamour with cool contemporary design.
After studying fashion design at Central Saint Martins, Alice was snapped up by Evisu Jeans to become head designer and moved to Hong Kong, where she worked for two years. She then moved to Paris for a year to work at Pop Magazine and also became a buyer for the vintage specialist Atelier Mayer. She then returned to Hong Kong to develop Wondaland, which is now in its third season and rapidly gaining a legion of loyal fans all over the world.
At only 25 years old, Alice is an exciting young design talent to watch. Drawing inspiration from a medley of places and icons including the mystique of Saigon and Bianca Jagger in the 70s, her collections are distinctive, original and exciting. Each season Alice collaborates with a different artist to create iconic prints such as a cool panther print by illustrator Catherine Cazalet for the SS12 collection. This flirtatious and bold collection has been inspired by the glamorous disco style seen at Studio 54 mixed with feminine Asian influences, including collarless jackets and tuxedo pants, printed maxi dresses and asymmetric vests. Highlights include a retro panther print and laser cut scalloped silk.
The collection has quickly caught the eye of the media, fashionista's and retailers. Fans include Sienna Miller, Poppy Delevigne and Margo Stilley and the range is available from cool independents such as The Village Bicycle.
